EU pledges support for Ukraine

European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule on Monday addressed the European Parliament that the European Union (EU) is standing ready to help and support Ukraine.

“We stand ready to help and support Ukraine on its modernization journey, including through topping up IMF loans with macro-financial assistance; by stepping up the European Union’s financial assistance programmes to help Ukraine implement the Agreement, when signed, and helping to bring on board other international partners,” Fule said.

“I firmly believe that Ukraine and the European Union have been bound in association – unprecedented by its depth, breadth, and strength – not only by the letter, but by the spirit of this Association Agreement, which is maybe worth a million times more than a simple stroke of the pen.” Fule said.
