Serbian, Montenegrin PMs discuss bilateral relations

Serbian and Montenegrin Prime Ministers met on Tuesday in Belgrade.

The two officials said that relations between the two countries are constantly improving.

Serbian PM said that he believed that “Podgorica’s decision to recognize the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo was wrong” – but that “Serbia does not intend to be defiant with Montenegro because of that.”

“The problem in our relationship was created a few years ago. If we normalized relations with all western countries that have recognized Kosovo and who were the promoters and sponsors of that independence, we’re not going to practice defiance with Montenegro. We think it was a mistake, but it was also the mistake of our leadership that they did not propose solutions,” he added.

The two prime ministers also noted that all the issues that are considered open should be be solved taking into account the interests of both countries.
