Japan’s defense minister visits India

Itsunori Onodera, Japan’s defense minister, is currently on a four-day visit to India.

On Monday he is expected to meet A. K. Antony, his Indian counterpart,  to discuss deepening military ties.

In addition to boosting defense ties, the two ministers will discuss the sale to India of amphibious aircraft. Also set to be included in the talks are security scenarios relating to territorial disputes in the region, and regularizing maritime cooperation following joint exercises last month.
