EP adopts resolution on Kosovo

The European Parliament (EP) passed on Thursday a resolution on Kosovo welcoming the European Council decision to open SAA negotiations.

The EP Rapporteur for Kosovo Ulrike Lunacek said that the fact that a large majority of MEPs backed her report is a strong signal that Kosovo’s future lies in integration into the European Union.

She urged the five EU member countries that have not recognised Kosovo to do so.

The EU’s positive impact on Kosovo is constantly being weakened by disagreements within the Union on this issue, Lunacek said.
