Kerry could meet Lavrov next week

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said he hopes to meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Europe next week to discuss the crisis in Ukraine.

Kerry said Thursday that the State Department is trying to organize a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of a summit on nuclear security.

The two leaders held several conversations face-to-face and by telephone on Ukraine last week, but none of them were able to mitigate the crisis.
