US President Barack Obama spoke Friday with Russian President Vladimir Putin about the situation in Ukraine and bilateral relations, the White House announced.
In a statement, the White House said that Obama “reiterated his deep concerns about Russia’s increased support for the separatists in Ukraine.
“The President reinforced his preference for a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Ukraine, and the two leaders agreed to keep open their channels of communication,” the statement affirmed.
It noted that Obama “also reiterated his concerns about Russia’s compliance with its obligations under the INF Treaty”.
