Personal Envoy of UN Secretary-General for Western Sahara, Christopher Ross is expected Wednesday in Algiers, as part of his regional tour, which began last Saturday, said the Foreign Ministry in a statement.
This new tour which ends on 23 February and is the fifth of its kind since Ross’s appointment in 2009, is part of the “context of the UN efforts to revive the settlement process of Western Sahara question,” said the source.
During his stay in Algiers, Ross will hold talks with Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra and will also be received by the highest officials of the State, added the Foreign Ministry, which said that his tour of the region, was originally scheduled for October 2014.
