Director of Al-Shifa Hospital: All patients in the intensive care unit have died

“Since the imposition of the blockade, more than 54 patients have already died in the hospital,” he stated.

Muhammad Abu Silmiya, the director of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, stated that all patients in the intensive care unit have passed away.

“All patients who were in the intensive care unit have died. Every single one. This happened due to the Israeli blockade that has been ongoing for seven days. Since the imposition of the blockade, more than 54 patients have already died in the hospital. I fear that those currently in critical condition will also die,“ said Silmiya.

He added that displaced persons are also in a desperate humanitarian situation.

“The hospital has simultaneously turned into a graveyard, a prison, and an Israeli barracks. The Israeli army is shooting at anything that moves on the hospital grounds,“ he said.
