US Forces Secretly Moved to Camp Titin
The United States secretly transferred part of its military forces and equipment to Camp Titin in Jordan before the facility was targeted by Iranian ballistic missiles, Iran’s Fars News Agency reported.
According to Fars, the redeployment was intended to move US forces and equipment beyond the reach of potential threats.
The Iranian agency described Camp Titin as strategically important within Washington’s regional network of military deployments and logistical support, particularly in the southern part of the region.
Fars characterized Iran’s subsequent operation against the base as both an intelligence and operational success, arguing that Tehran had demonstrated its ability to track US military movements despite efforts to relocate personnel and equipment.
Tasnim provided further details, reporting that Washington had transferred forces to Camp Titin on the assumption that Iran did not possess complete intelligence about the facility.
According to the Iranian agency, the subsequent strike demonstrated that the IRGC had detailed information about US military movements and retained the ability to target forces after their redeployment.
IRGC Says Missiles Destroyed Facilities, Helicopters
The IRGC had previously announced that it targeted Camp Titin, which it identified as a US Marine Corps facility in Jordan, with ballistic missiles.
“The attack on the US Marine Corps camp in Jordan resulted in the destruction of a number of important facilities and the enemy’s attack helicopters,” the IRGC said.
The IRGC also said a large number of US forces stationed at the facility were killed in the attack. It did not provide a specific casualty figure or further details about the reported losses.
According to Tasnim, Camp Titin occupies a strategically important location near the northern end of the Red Sea and the ports of Aqaba and Eilat, as well as relatively close to Jordan’s border with Saudi Arabia.
The facility is suitable for Marine Corps training, maritime infrastructure protection and the rapid deployment of US forces, the Iranian agency reported.
Iranian media therefore portrayed the attack not only as a missile strike on a US military facility but as evidence that attempts to conceal or disperse Washington’s regional forces had failed to place them beyond Iran’s reach.
Iran Says Strikes Target US Military Presence
Iran has maintained since the beginning of the US attacks on February 28 that its retaliatory operations target American military bases and facilities rather than the countries hosting them.
Tehran says the strikes are responses to US attacks carried out using Washington’s network of military facilities throughout the region.
The Camp Titin attack followed a US strike on a residential building in Sirik, southern Iran, where a wedding ceremony was taking place.
According to Iranian authorities, five people, including a child, were killed and around 70 others wounded in the attack.
The IRGC said the house was hosting the marriage ceremony of a young couple when it was struck, condemning the attack and comparing it to earlier US attacks in Minab and Lamerd.
The subsequent ballistic missile strike on Camp Titin formed part of Iran’s retaliatory operations against US military positions across the region.
Iranian media said the operation also carried a broader message: relocating US personnel and military assets within the region would not necessarily put them beyond the reach of Iranian intelligence or missile capabilities.
