Iranian defense minister: making new arms in Iran boosts authority

TEHRAN, (ISNA)-Iran’s defense minister Mustafa Mohammad Najjar said on Sunday that making new weapons in Iran will boost Islamic Republic’s authority.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps ability to make surface-to-sea missiles with 300 kilometers range clearly unveils Iran’s capabilities, he told reporters after cabinet meeting.

Last month Iran test-fired surface-to-sea missiles over the Persian Gulf during a military manoeuvre code-named the Great Prophet III.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Major General Mohammad-Ali Jafari has said the recent military exercise was aimed at showing the nation’s military might.
