Quake Hits Southeastern Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- A mild tremor measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale jolted Shahdad suburbs in Iran’s southeastern Province of Kerman on Saturday.

The Seismological center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 23:56:36 hours local time (20:26:36 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area 57.50 degrees in longitude and 30.78 degrees in latitude.

There are yet no reports on the number of possible casualties or damage to properties by the quake.

Iran is criss-crossed with fault lines and is regularly hit by earthquakes, experiencing at least one slight tremor every day on average.
