Iran’s Kelar Tappeh Yields New Findings

“The seal bears the image of a deer and two goats, which might refer to the geographical distribution of these two animals in the area,” said director of the Kelar Tappeh archeology team, Seyyed Mehdi Mousavi.

“The seal has been broken in two and the other half has not been found yet,” he added, according to a press tv report.

The team also found an earthenware container with a metal ring which archeologists believe was hung from the ceiling once and used for storing perishable food.

Kelar Tappeh is located in Iran’s northern province of Mazandaran
