Afghan, NATO troops kill 34 Taliban in Afghan south

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (Reuters) – Afghan and NATO-led troops have killed 34 Taliban insurgents in two days of fighting in the southern Afghan province of Helmand, the provincial governor’s spokesman said on Monday.

Seven insurgents, one Afghan policeman and an Afghan army soldier were also wounded in the operation near Lashkar Gah, the provincial capital of Helmand, spokesman Dawood Ahmadi said.
