Slovenian FM: Macedonia should be on the EU agenda

The time for setting date for start of accession talks with Macedonia has come, Slovenian Foreign Minister Samuel Zbogar said ahead of the EU foreign ministers meeting.

Zbogar is not sure whether the ministers will agree on setting a date for start of accession talks with Macedonia. However he said that this kind of decision would be positive for Greece and EU as well.

“Macedonia should be on the EU agenda. We will have discussion on the Western Balkan countries and we will possibly open the issue on Macedonia. In December, we said that we will discuss Macedonian issue once more during Spain’s EU presidency. Today’s is the last session of Spanish EU presidency and I believe it’s time to exchange thoughts on Macedonian issue. However I don’t believe that we will achieve agreement on setting a date for start of accession talks. “, Slovenian FM Zbogar said.
