Kosovo authorities started excavating a suspected mass grave Tuesday (August 31st) believed to contain the bodies of Kosovo Serbs killed during the 1999 conflict. The Commission on Missing Persons did not comment on the possible number of bodies that might be recovered, but gave the green light to operations in the Zhilivode/Zilivoda village in Vushtrri/Vucitrn municipality. The process is being monitored by EULEX experts and representatives of Serbia’s Commission for Missing Persons.
