Macedonia will keep the EC recommendation to start negotiations for EU membership

Macedonia will keep the European Commission recommendation to start negotiations for EU membership, but the country will not negotiate while Brussels sees no progress in talks on the name. That is what unnamed sources from the European Commission said, in comments on the progress report on Macedonia, which will be announced in early October.

The initial information on the report will be release by Deputy Minister for Integration Teuta Arifi, who today pays a visit to Brussels. Despite the positive report, the issue of negotiations with Macedonia will be on the agenda of the EU Summit in December.
