Slovakia back Serbia on EU integration

Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčak stated in Belgrade on Tuesday that Slovakia supports the start of pre-accession talks between Serbia and the EU.

Lajčak informed his Serbian counterpart Ivan Mrkić about the mood in the EU in terms of the expected decision on a date for the opening of pre-accession talks with Serbia.

Lajčak and Mrkić both agreed that optimism is the prevailing mood in the EU, which is confirmed by an abundance of evidence in favor of Serbia as a result of the decisions and behavior of its leadership, the statement reads.

The Slovak minister expressed his appreciation for all Serbia has done with regard to reforms in the country and the foreign policy.
