Serbian President will participate to celebration of Croatia’s EU entry

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will attend celebrations marking Croatia’s accession to the EU.

Nikolic will travel to Zagreb for the celebration and for the Igman Initiative meeting. on July 1.

This will be the first official meeting of Nikolic and his Croatian counterpart.

Josipovic terminated contacts with Nikolic, following publication of a controversial statement made before Nikolic became President, that the eastern Croatian town of Vukovar was “a Serbian city”.

Josipovic requested withdrawal of the statement as the precondition for renewing contacts with Nikolic.
