Moldovan president visits Turkey for first time since 1999

Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti arrived in Ankara on Tuesday to sign a number of agreements with his Turkish counterpart, Abdullah Gül.

Timofti is expected to discuss with Turkish officials political and economic issues as well as bilateral relations between Turkey and Moldova.
On his second day in Turkey, Timofti is scheduled to visit Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s mausoleum and to have a private meeting with Gül.

After signing a number of agreements, Gül and Timofti will hold a joint press conference.
