Egyptian FM to visit Iraq

Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi directed his Foreign Minister Sameh Shukry on Thursday to head to the Iraqi capital and convey Egypt’s stance in support of Iraq.

The current Iraqi crisis comes as the forefront of priorities for consultations on ways to restore national reconciliation between all parties involved in Iraq, amid serious threats to the security and integrity of Iraq and its territorial integrity, as well as the security of neighboring countries in the Arab region, a statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry said.

The statement noted that the minister’s tour which also included Jordan and Kuwait, was to discuss developments in the region.
