Turkey jets kill 8 PKK in North Iraq

Turkish Air Force conducted an operation in northern Iraq, killing at least eight PKK militants, the Turkish military said Tuesday.
The PKK militants were plotting an attack on Turkish military locations on the Turkish-Iraqi border, according to a statement issued by Turkish General Staff.
Turkish authorities said on Saturday 13 soldiers and six civilians had been killed in PKK attacks in August, while the Turkish army killed 176 PKK militants inside and outside Turkey.
Listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and EU, the PKK resumed its attacks against Turkey in July 2015. Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of more than 1,250 Turkish security personnel and civilians.
