Tehran Keen to Expand Ties with Sana’a

A0162364.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said that expansion of comprehensive, all-out ties with Yemen is among the strategies of Ahmadinejad administration.

Speaking in a meeting with Yemeni ambassador to Tehran here on Sunday, Mottaki noted the two countries’ interests and strong ties and described Iran-Yemen relations as developing, a statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau said.

He said that Tehran welcomes reinvigoration of the two states’ cooperation and pointing to the positive results of his recent visit to Yemen, he expressed the hope that continued exchanges of views by the two countries’ Foreign Ministers and senior officials could gift a hectic period to their current relations.

Also noting the strategies of the Islamic Republic government in the face of Yemen, the diplomat stressed that Tehran perceives no impediment to the consolidation of ties with Sana’a.

For his part, Yemen’s ambassador to Tehran expressed pleasure with the developing trend of the two countries’ relations and stressed decisiveness of his country’s high-ranking officials for consolidating ties with Tehran.

He also voiced enthusiasm of Yemeni officials for preparing new grounds for the two states’ relations through continued exchange of views by the two sides.

Meantime, the diplomat voiced his country’s full support for Iran’s access to peaceful nuclear technology and expressed the hope that the current nuclear talks between Iran and the EU would reach desirable results.
