TEHRAN (FNA) – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei pardoned a large number of prisoners as Iran celebrates the 29th anniversary of its Islamic Revolution.Up to 4,893 convicts were granted pardon or commutation of their sentences by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, IRIB reported.
On February 11, 1979, the Iranian nation led by their late leader, Imam Khomeini, won their 15-year battle against the regime of the country’s former monarch, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
Now, 29 years on, Iranians celebrate the anniversary of their victory by taking to the streets and showing their support for the Islamic Republic, which was established through their own efforts and sacrifices.
