Moldova Parliament fails to elect president again

Moldova Parliament has failed for the third time to elect president again: the only candidate for the post-Marian Lupu, won 53 from 61 necessary votes.

The communists have left the hall before the voting.

Liberal Democratic Party has 53 seats in the Parliament and the Communists-48. It was noted in the Moldovan Constitution that in the present situation early parliamentary elections should be held in 2010.

Political situation in Moldova could not be stabilized over half a year ago. After the parliamentary elections on April 5 (won by the communist party) there were mass rows.
