Montenegrin PM: Montenegro won’t wait for ICJ decision

img96Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Đukanović said that Podgorica will not wait to establish diplomatic relations with Priština.

“There should be no more hiding behind alibis, with expectations that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague will give some kind of explicit negation of the total policies of the international community in relation to the Kosovo question,” Đukanović said.

“That is pure illusion and I have never made a practice of wasting time on illusions,” Đukanović said.

He said that diplomatic relations should be established with reasonable dynamics, and ambassadors should be exchanged, because this will contribute to establishing quality relations in the region, a higher level of stability, and the creation of perspective worthy of a European future.

Commenting the various stances of Montenegrin senior officials regarding when diplomatic relations should be established with Kosovo, Đukanović said that those are all personal opinions and that the decision is solely in the hands of the Montenegrin Foreign Affairs Ministry.
