Moldovan Delegation headed by Premier Vlad Filat to visit Washington

A delegation led by Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat will be paying a visit to Washington between January 19 and 23.

The delegation will also include Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar.

The program of the visit includes the signing of the Compact Agreement with the Millennium Challenge Corporation, under which Moldova will receive US$262 million.

The Compact Program for Moldova has two components – development of advanced agriculture as part of which there will be restored 11 irrigation systems, and road rehabilitation.

The money will be provided as a grant.
