Serbian PM says negotiations with Pristina can continue with or without the European mediation

Serbian prime minister Ivica Dacic said his government would continue negotiations with Kosovo with or without the European mediation.

Serbia is determined to solve its problems with the government of Kosovo even if the European Union (EU) decided to quit mediation, Dacic said on Saturday.

He said Serbia was keen on concluding a peaceful solution because it wanted the Serbs in Kosovo to enjoy their rights, and not because of Serbia’s desire to join the EU.

The EU told Serbia it should reach a settlement with Kosovo before continuing its accession process.
