Egypt president visits Athens

imgUpon Greece’s invitation, Interim President Adly Mansour on a one-day visit to Athens on Monday aims to consolidate bilateral relations in various fields between the two countries.

The trip is Mansour’s first to the European Union.

The Egyptian president will hold bilateral talks with his counterpart Karolos Papoulias and Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.

The EU, headed by Greece for a six-month period as of January 2014, has expressed concerns over the political situation in Egypt since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
