Russia hopes positive agenda will prevail with U.S

SOCHI, Russia (Reuters) – Russia hopes the crisis in Georgia will not disrupt strategically important relations between the United States and Russia, a top Kremlin aide said on Tuesday.

“We hope that a positive agenda in relations with the United States will prevail and that the fiasco over the (Americans’) Georgian project will not affect a responsible approach by our American partners to problems that are of real interest to the international community,” Sergei Prikhodko told reporters.

Prikhodko, chief foreign policy advisor to President Dmitry Medvedev, said he did not expect the United States to impose sanctions against Russia.
