Iran, Kuwait Continue Talks over Gas Deal

A00947631.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Chief executive of state oil firm Kuwait Petroleum Corp Saad Al-Shuwaib said his country is in talks with Iran on importing gas.

Kuwait’s domestically produced natural gas is not sufficient for the country’s consumption; KPC plans on trying to import the deficit, Al-Shuwaib elaborated.

Al-Shuwaib was quoted by press tv as saying that Kuwait has been discussing the issue of importing gas with Iranian officials for the past four years.

He pointed out that KPC’s domestic and foreign investments over the next five years will amount to $55 billion.

The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation participates in joint ventures with other firms.
