Dutch FM to visit Belgrade on Dec. 16

Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen will visit Belgrade on December 16.

The Netherlands is opposed to the implementation of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) between Serbia and the European Union before the remaining two Hague fugitives have been extradited.

However reports recently suggested that this stance had been “softened”.

Some ten days ago, the Dutch Foreign Ministry states that the SAA could be unfrozen if Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz said in his new report that Serbia was doing everything within its power to arrest Ratko Mladić and Goran Hadžić.
