Syria Denies Mualem’s Visit to S. Arabia

Syria dismissed reports that a visit to Suadi Arabia by its foreign minister had been cancelled, saying that no such visit had originally been on the working agenda of Walid Mualem. “Such a visit had not been on the working agenda of the Syrian government from the beginning,” a Syrian source, who asked to remain anonymous, told FNA.

An unnamed Saudi official told France Press Agency that the Syrian foreign minister was due to take a trip to Jeddah to deliver a message from President Bashar al-Asad to Saudi King Abdallah bin Abd al-Aziz Al Saud and attend a meeting with his Saudi counterpart Saud al-Faysal.
