(CNN) — The Israel Defense Forces said about 70 rockets hit Israel on Saturday, projectiles fired by Hezbollah militants fighting the Jewish state.
One Israeli soldier at an outpost in northern Israel was moderately injured by Hezbollah fire. It was unclear whether the fire was from a rocket.
In Haifa, at least seven air raid sirens have sounded, and several rockets landed in an open area.
While it was quiet in the large metropolis of Haifa because of the Jewish Sabbath, Israel’s third-largest city remains very much under siege from days of rocketing. Rockets also targeted the area around Avivim. (Posted 10:20 a.m.)
