West Invited to Participate in Iran’s Nuclear Projects

A0012578.jpgTEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iran Tuesday extended an invitation to western companies to participate in its nuclear projects, a sign that it will not budge from its decision to continue nuclear activities for peaceful purposes.

Chairman of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Ala’oddin Baroujerdi, however, said that if these parties were unwilling to do so, then the Islamic Republic should be left alone to continue the projects, a Bernama report said.

“We have had the approval of another 21 thousand megawatts of nuclear power plants approved by Parliament that will be built in the next 20 years.

“(The) international tenders for building two of these nuclear power plants have been presented, and we are willing to see western companies participate in these projects.

“However, should they not be interested, the projects should not be stopped and we shall definitely be involved in the construction of what we need for ourselves in the future.”

Boroujerdi said the above to reporters after paying a courtesy call on Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Ramli Ngah Talib at his office in Parliament here.
