Investigations into Mousavian’s Case Continue

Investigations into the case of Iran’s former nuclear negotiator Hossein Mousavian continue, an informed source told FNA here on Saturday. The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, also said that Mousavian, Iran’s top nuclear negotiator at the time of Rafsanjani’s presidency and a deputy head of the Strategic Research Center of Iran’s Expediency Council prior to detention, is kept in Evin prison, adding that the country’s intelligence ministry, which is in charge of the case, is continuing investigations and interrogations in this regard.

“Mousavian has been charged with spying on Iran’s nuclear programs and activities and due to the same reason, his case is verified at the Revolutionary Court and under Tehran’s deputy prosecutor general for security affairs,” he mentioned.

The source stressed that the detainee is being interrogated by Iran’s Intelligence Ministry at present.

Asked if Mousavian could be released on bail, the source said the relevant court has not yet issued any such decree and that he is still under detention.

The source had earlier informed FNA that a series of introductory investigations have been launched to verify if Mousavian has transferred nuclear information to foreign countries.

The source had previously stated that Mousavian had been arrested on charges of espionage.
