Greece to improve its stability program after Brussels’ recommendations

Greece will improve its stability program, measures, which have to strengthen the economy in compliance with the recommendations of European representatives, which have visited the country over the last three days. The financial minister George Papaconstantinou announced the intention of the Greek Parliament to present before Brussels a concrete and analytical program on decreasing the budget deficit.

According to Papaconstantinou the three-day visit to Greece of the representatives of the European Commission and the European Central Bank has strengthened the conviction of the Cabinet it moves in the right direction. The stability program will be tabled for approval at a sitting of the ECOFIN at the end of January. The financial minister expressed his conviction the program will be approved.
