Ashton and Fule sent joint letter to EU on Serbia’s accession talks date

Catherine Ashton and Stefan Fule have sent a joint letter to EU members asking for a clear positive decision on the start of accession talks with Serbia.

The EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, and the organization’s enlargement commissioner sent the letter on Friday.

The four-page document states that Belgrade and Priština made significant progress in normalization of relations, which was the condition posed by the European Council in December in connection with Serbia’s accession talks.

The letter goes on to list the concrete steps taken in the implementation of the Brussels agreement, as well as the agreements the two sides reached in recent weeks.
