Hague: Šešelj trial continues

HAGUE, Holland

A status conference in the court process being led against Serb Radical Party (SRS) leader Vojislav Šešelj will be held on Tuesday. The trial was in its final phase when it was halted in February, after some witnesses of the prosecution claimed to have received threats.

Meantime in another trial, Šešelj was sentenced to 15 months in prison on July 24, after being found guilty of contempt of court. The court found him guilty of releasing the names and other personal information of protected witness in a book he wrote.

Šešelj has been in Hague custody since February 24, 2003, when he turned himself in to authorities.

His war crimes trial began in November 2007.
