EU will follow Serbia developments carefully

The EU believes that the political differences in Serbia must be solved through normal political process, a spokeswoman has said.

“We followed the development of the situation in Serbia this weekend with growing concern,” Maja Kocijancic, a spokeswoman for the EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, said in a statement late on Sunday.

“Political differences must be resolved within the established political process, and the EU will carefully follow how the situation develops,” she said.

Kocijancic said that “Serbia has set high goals for itself this year when it comes to European integration,” but “it is yet to meet them.”
