Leader Pays Homage to Founder of Islamic Republic

The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei visited the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini on Tuesday, January 31 and paid homage to the Founder of the Islamic Republic.

The visit took place on the threshold of the auspicious 10-Day Dawn period and on the eve of the 27th anniversary of the late Imam’s return from exile to his Islamic homeland. It was also coincident with the first day of the lunar month of Moharram, the month of mourning over the martyrdom of Imam Hussein-ibn-Ali (greetings be upon him).

Ayatollah Khamenei paid tribute to and honored the memory of the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini. Also by visiting the Martyrs Cemetery, he commemorated the honorable martyrs of the Islamic Revolution and the Sacred Defense and prayed to Almighty Allah for the loftiness of their position in the hereafter.
