Quake Hits Northern Iran

A031190619.jpgAn earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale jolted the area in the vicinity of the city of Sorkheh in Iran’s northern province of Semnan on Sunday.

Semnan’s seismological network affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 11:31:48 hours local time (08:01:48 GMT).

The epicenter of the quake was located in an area measuring 53.20 degrees in longitude and 35.10 degrees in latitude.

No reports have yet been received on the possible number of casualties or damage to properties by the quake.
