A Tu-134 aircraft carrying Russian Navy Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Masorin has crashed in Ukraine’s Crimea Region. Several navy officers suffered burns as a fire broke out on the plane.

Occupation command reports of death of Chechen Republic Ichkeria’s vice-president Shamil Basayev. There no details have been reported.

At dawn on July 4 Russian military and Moscow-backed Chechen police blockaded the village of Kotar-Yurt in the Achkhoy-Martanovsky district, with the support of a large quantity of armour. After closing off all routes in and out of the village, soldiers and police began a large-scale passport check.
